Hats off for Northcliff High Matriculants

NORTHCLIFF – 267 OF 268 Northcliff High matriculants pass.

Northcliff High School matric pupils of 2014 achieved a 99.62 per cent pass rate. Although the school dropped from 100 per cent pass rate they have been achieving for the last four years, deputy principal and head of academics Lorna Clinning said they are happy that the pupils did well.

“We only facilitate but the children put in the work,” said Clinning.

“The one pupil who did not make it failed English by 3 per cent. Overall I am happy about the results because the syllabus also changed.”

Out of those who passed, 85.33 per cent obtained Bachelor’s and 14,6 per cent diploma qualifications.

One pupil achieved a whopping eight distinctions, setting a mark for the school. Following right behind were five pupils with seven distinctions and four with six distinctions.

“If the pupils get what they need to go where they want to go, it is an achievement for us. Some of them are a bit disappointed by a mark or so, but there are very few pupils who will be disappointed that they can’t go get the tertiary education that they wanted,” she said.
