Linden Police honour external role players

RANDPARK – Letters of appreciation are presented to actively involved community members.

Linden Police recently gave letters of appreciation to members of the External Role Players Forum (ERPF) during a breakfast function at the Randpark Golf Club.

The forum was established about 10 years ago to improve the communication and operational participation between the community, the police and external role players.

The forum consists of the four sector Community Policing sub-Forum chairpersons, community-based organisations, security companies serving the Linden Police precinct and the Metro Police. The forum meets with the aim to discuss the root causes of crime and how to operationally address these causes. Don Macy, representing the Delta Environmental Centre, received a special letter of appreciation as he was one of the founder members of the forum.

Macy is still actively involved in the meetings after a decade. The Linden Community Policing Forum is also represented by chairperson Jadd Harding. “It is imperative that the members of the community in the Linden precinct become aware of the existence of this forum, and make use of these formal structures to communicate their policing needs and information to the police through this structure,” said Linden Police Operations Commander Captain Alex Vermaak.

Harding urged the community to contact him if they require information about this forum. Linden Police Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Musthan thanked every recipient for their hard work and dedication through the year, and said that the management of Linden Police is looking forward to renewed vigour in the new year.
