Buzzing with dance and drama

ROOSEVELT PARK – Buzz students perform to family and friends at year-end presentations.

Children from the Buzz Drama, Dance, and Singing Workshop Programme have been putting up grand performance at their year-end presentations for family and friends.

A humorous narrative of song, dance, and drama was performed with much enthusiasm from the children involved at the Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre on 2 December.

Buzz offers an inclusive and safe environment for children ranging from pre-school to primary school to express themselves creatively through song, dance, and drama.

Managing director of Buzz Hanneke Rauch said, “The idea about Buzz is really to help benefit the children involved. We can build up their confidence and boost their social skills. We really try to encourage them to be more creative and just really have them buzzing with energy and excitement.”

Buzz promotes a wide array of different activities ranging from drama scenarios, musical games, and interpretative dancing. It also makes use of original music with the aim of teaching and encouraging students.

The end of year presentations gave Buzz pupils the opportunity to showcase everything that they have learned throughout the year to friends and family.

“Today is an opportunity to give them that high five that they really need. This gives them the validation that they have done a good job. It’s so important to give children that opportunity and to give positive feedback to them,” Rauch said.

Parents were delighted to see how their loved ones danced, sang, and acted their hearts out, through a healthy and positive learning environment.

Supportive parent Dr Marisa Roestorf said, “My son loves doing Buzz every day. Sometimes he doesn’t want to go to school, but this is not the case with Buzz. It’s his favoUrite part of the day.”
