And then there were eight housemates

LINDEN – The four evicted 'Big Brother' housemates feel like they left something behind – the prize money.

Botswana suffered a double-loss after country mates Sheillah and Goitse were evicted from the Linden-based Big Brother house on 30 December.

This along with Miss Uganda, Ellah, and Mozambican musician Trezagah.

It’s the end of the road for all three countries this season, and for these contestants, it’s a case of gone too soon.

It’s evident that the evicted housemates were not ready to bow out yet, having missed the finale by a week.

Sheilla said it “p****d” her off, Trezagah said he would probably still be in the running for the money if Big Brother hadn’t punished him for breaking the rules, Goitse said the people who voted for them are understandably playing the game, and Ellah is yet to get over the exit.

The bitter-sweet confinement might be over for the four contestants, but their plans outside the house are without borders.

“I see myself in Isidingo, Muvhango, Generations, on 5FM and maybe a TV show,” said Sheillah, who has proved to be quite the performer. Musical prospects for the Botswana songbird involve collaborating with South African hip-hop artist AKA.

With Trezagah having evolved from the silent observer to the joker, the Portuguese-speaking rapper is looking to release an album in English, to accommodate his broadened fan base.

“One thing that made me the quiet person in the house is because I wasn’t comfortable with the English language, because I speak Portuguese at home and I spent about five years not speaking English. So it was a challenge for me to speak English with everyone. Once I felt I was free, I started doing whatever I wanted to do,” he said, explaining his gradual vocal presence in the house.

Singing was quite the reprieve in the house, and Ellah has her plans set on recording the songs she wrote during her stay, including her collaboration with former housemate Kacey Moore.

“I’m hoping endorsements come my way,” she added.

On the topic of music, flexible Goitse is ready to explore dance and the culture behind it through a documentary.

“I also would love to get into TV and radio presenting,” she said.

The four housemates brought forward their best entertainment skills with Trezagah have sidebars with the cameras during his regular shout outs routine, Goitse’s Friday night moves, Sheillah’s never dwindling larger than life personality and Ellah’s mesmerising eyes that were almost vocal.

With only eight housemates left in the Big Brother House, we are yet to see who will take home the coveted $300 000.
