Help find Tyrin Munnik

NEWLANDS – Tyrin Munnik's mother and ex-wife are looking for him after he went missing in August.

NewlandS resident Cherie Schrade is looking for her 33-year-old son Tyrone James Munnick, who went missing in August.

According to Schrade, Munniks’ ex-wife Yannick Algrain made her aware of this when Munnik failed to visit their children at her Fourways home as per usual.

“His ex-wife called and said Tyrin hadn’t visited during one of their children’s birthday, which was unlike him because he always visited his children,” Cherie said.

She informed that she had been to hospitals and malls – among other places – and has still not been able to find her son.

She also revealed that Tyrin is a drug addict, and had sold his cellphone for a fix, making him unreachable telephonically.

He was believed to be living with drug dealers in Fourways at the time.

Algrain said the last time she saw Schrade was on 10 August.

“He came to my house, dropped off a bag and said he will be back,” Algrain informed.

She added that he never usually stored things at her house.

“I opened a case at the Douglasdale Police Station a month after he didn’t show up to visit our children,” she said.

“He would usually be in contact with me two to three times a week, so it is not like him not to call,” Algrain added.

At the time Munnik went missing, his left arm was broken and in a sling.
