Man crush Monday: Luis Munana

LINDEN – Would it not be nice to have a man crush to look at especially when you are trying to get over the Monday blues? Well, your wish is about to come true.

What a shocker!

Namibian Luis Munana’s (popularly known as Luis) exit from Big Brother Hotshots, housed in Linden, on 2 November may have been a shame and a shock to many, but he is still the kind of guy both men and women are likely to crush on.

This 23-year-old lad is a beauty with brains. He studied finance at the University of Cape Town.

“I always say modelling found me and decided to marry me, because I thought I will be an accountant” he says.

Luis is focused on his media and modelling career.

“The degree is just something to fall back on in case all of this doesn’t work out.”

The TV presenter entered the Big Brother house single, but the few weeks he spent in the house might have made a difference.

“When I entered the house and met Mira, we had our thing, but we never really defined it. But now that I am out of the house, I will go to Mozambique and see if we can define things.”

According to Luis, true love is not easy to come by.

“It is difficult to find love when you are in this industry because you don’t know when someone is being real with you, or they are with you because of who you are and what they can get out of you.”

Luis has a firm well-tightened body that makes the sight of him walking down the runway a joy. But such a body does not come easy.

“You have to be very disciplined, you have to eat right, sleep right and go to the gym. You need a very healthy lifestyle.”

Luis, however, does it for other reasons too.

“I also do it because when you are a full package, it is easy to get jobs in this industry,” he says.

Luis has done international modelling projects for Pepsi and has been on numerous magazines such as South Africa’s True Love and Drum magazines.

“I enjoy the freebies I get as a model. Designers make clothes for me specifically and most of all, I enjoy travelling and meeting new people,” he says.

Luis’s favourite designers are Abisai and Roberto. South Africa’s David Tlale also makes the list.

“David Tlale is one of the designers I look up to because of his work ethic and where he has been.”

The former Big Brother contestant went into the house with a dream of building a production company with his winnings.

“Even though I didn’t win, I will still make this dream a reality and see where I can get help to build our film and TV industry, because back home we don’t have much – we watch a lot of shows from South Africa.”
