Be a cheerful giver this festive season

NORTHCLIFF – Karlien Jacobs will be providing for the homeless this festive season.

Ever wondered what you can do to help the less fortunate?

Northcliff resident Karlien Jacobs is doing just that this festive season.

The 24-year-old has started a feeding scheme that helps feed the disadvantaged individuals who live on the streets.

“I am eager to help others. We are heading for Christmas and there are so many children and families who will be spending their Christmas on the street with nothing to eat and no place to call home,” she said.

“This festive season, I will be collecting food and clothes from willing residents, and distributing them to the less fortunate.”

Jacobs said she will be going to her neighbouring areas to identify those in need.

“I would really be glad if the community unites and helps me to help the poor this festive season,” said the determined Jacobs.

I will be going around town and around the areas to give people food and clothes, just to make them feel special, she said.

“I know how it feels to not have food, and wonder where you will receive your next meal – I have been there as well.”

Jacobs started a Facebook page called We are the future, where people can raise awareness on how to help the less fortunate and share their cheerful giving moments.

“I want the community to step in and help the less fortunate.”
