Award winning author Eve Ensler at UJ

AUCKLAND PARK- Eve Ensler to grace UJ with her presence giving residents an opportunity to engage with her and ask questions concerning her new book.

Award winning author Eve Ensler will engage in conversation with Deputy Chairperson of South African Human rights commission 20 July.

The talk that will be held at the University of Johannesburg Kingsway campus at 6pm will be part of Ensler’s South African tour discussing her latest book- In the body of the world: A memoir of cancer and connection.

Ensler’s memoir was released on April 30, 2013. Booklist reviewed the book, saying, “This is a ravishing book of revelation and healing, lashing truths and deep emotion, courage and perseverance, compassion and generosity. Warm, funny, furious, and astute, as well as poetic, passionate, and heroic, Ensler harnesses all that she lost and learned to articulate a galvanizing vision of the essence of life”.

Ensler is an American playwright, performer, feminist, and activist, best known for her play -The Vagina Monologues of 1996.

Born on May 25, 1953 in New York City, Ensler is rated one of Newsweek’s 150 women who changed the world and is also the founder of V-day on one billion rising.

There will be a book signing after the event.
