JBA pairs set to rock Roosevelt Park

ROOSEVELT PARK - A fight to the end for the title set to play out at local bowls club.

The Men’s and Ladies Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA) Pairs finals will be contested at the Roosevelt Park Bowling club on the first Sunday in June.

It will be a test of talent and skill, as well as endurance and stamina, as the finals will be played directly after the semi-finals on that morning with the pairs quarter-finals thrashed out the day before on 31 May.

Bowls fans can expect to see keenly contested battles, the renewal of fierce rivalries and the settling of old scores.

“We’re expecting a good crowd,” said manager of Roosevelt Park Bowling Club, Pamela Landau, “get there early to ensure a good seat.”

The bowling club at Roosevelt Park has recently added a shady lapa where spectators can sit and follow the action with a cool drink at their elbows. New bowlers are most welcome to join regular members, who will be playing social fours games on the adjoining greens on Saturday and Sunday.
