CSS nabs three criminal suspects in Melville

MELVILLE – Swift action by CSS Tactical security takes three criminals off the street.

The streets of Melville could be a little bit safer after the good work done by the CSS Tactical team, which arrested three suspected criminals in two separate incidents on 29 March.

Andy Cohen, Communications Consultant of CSS, a security company, said that at about 08.02 am “the CSS Tactical Operations Centre (TOC) received a panic from an address in Melville. The dedicated Melville Tactical unit as well as the dedicated Melville Strike Team were dispatched to the scene”.

He said the tactical officers were informed that a pedestrian was robbed by two men who stole money and valuables from her and the tactical officers “immediately set off in search of the suspects. Not long after, they radioed to report that they had arrested the suspects just a few streets away”.

Cohen explained that the victim’s cell phone was recovered as a well as a knife which the suspects had used in the robbery. After the two suspects were handed over to the police, the Melville Tactical Units immediately set about with their routine proactive patrols in the suburb.

While on this subsequent proactive patrol the unit spotted three suspicious individuals. When the three saw the Tactical Unit approaching, they ran in different directions however the CSS guys were too quick for one of the suspects who was caught and immediately apprehended. He was found to be in possession of a laptop which he later admitted to stealing in the early hours of the morning.
