Joburgs mini council has a local chief whip

Roosevelt High's Qitarah Pillay was inaugurated into the role which is a proud moment for the school.

The City of Johannesburg has an incredible programme called the mini-council or Joburg Student Council.

The council is an incredible platform where young leaders are cultivated and taught about democracy, good governance, and the importance of being active citizens.

Roosevelt High School is extremely proud of one of its learners, Qitarah Pillay who was inaugurated into the role of Chief Whip of Council and who will serve with others in this important role.

Principal Willie de Wet said of the achievement, “We are extremely proud of Qitarah and wish her and her new colleagues well in this important endeavor.”
