VOX POP : All the reasons why Juffrou Gouws will be missed

Learners of Laerskool Louw Geldenhuys tell us why they will miss Juffrou Ronell Gouws as she retires after working at the school for 43 years.

In the dictionary, the word teacher is simply defined as ‘a person who teaches, especially in a school’.

For the children of Laerskool Louw Geldenhuys, this word is more nuanced than this simple definition.

It is layered with love, care, and appreciation especially when it comes to describing their Grade 3 teacher, Ronell Gouws. She has been a teacher at the school for the past 43 years and in her last week, children she had the pleasure of teaching shared with Northcliff Melville Times why she was so special to them.
