Roosevelt High School anticipates good grades from matric exams

The school has experienced much growth in 2022 with expectations of added success in the new year.

The principal of Roosevelt High School Willie de Wet said the school was anxiously awaiting the results from the Grade 12 exams but was expecting a 100% pass rate with good results.

“Our matrics this year were a great group of learners and I hope everyone’s dreams come true. These first tentative steps they take in the adult world will be filled with wisdom and great expectation of their future successes,” he said.

He complimented the staff who have ‘worked extremely hard this year and I hope they have a well-deserved break over the festive season’. “We are blessed to have a staff complement of such calibre who are so motivated to help our learners achieve greatness while under our care.
“We also have an incredibly committed and caring parent body who time and time again go above and beyond to assist us in providing the best education we can to your children. Finally, to our student body, you are fantastic and it is an absolute pleasure to work with and for you to give you the grounding you need to succeed later in life.”

He added one of the biggest highlights of the year was the opening of 10 new classrooms that were completed after funds were made available from the Gauteng Department of Education. This investment in the school made it possible for them to educate additional learners in the high-demand area.

“The entire school body wishes our broader community well over the festive season and blessings to those who celebrate Christmas. I hope the end-of-year break gives everyone an opportunity to rest and spend time with family before we begin a new year with all the hope for success that brings. From the bottom of my heart, best wishes to everyone and I am looking forward to 2023.”
