ANC’s Dada Morero the new City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor

The African National Congress(ANC) Sello Enoch Dada Morero is the new Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg.

Morero is the Johannesburg Regional Chairperson for the ANC.

The newly elected Johannesburg City Council speaker Colleen Makhubele has passed a motion of no confidence against the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Mpho Phalatse.

Phalatse had released a statement yesterday (September 29) and detailed how there were forces to remove her from office using the hashtag #handsoffjoburg.

In the open letter and video, Phalatse told Joburg residents that the African National Congress was allegedly working towards removing her because they wanted to stop service delivery in the city.

Phalatse tried to stop the motion of no confidence today (September 30) by filing for an urgent court order at the Johannesburg High Court but her efforts were unsuccessful.
