International karate win for local teen
One of their Grade 9 leaners took part in the World Shotokan Karate-Do Association Championships.
King David Victory Park learner, Ross Raven, wins bronze at the recently held World Shotokan Karate-Do Association Championships (WSKA).
These championships are held every two years at the beginning of September and this year’s took place in Liverpool, England.

Raven, a Grade 9 learner, competed against 24 countries and managed to win a bronze medal for Junior Men’s Kata. King David Victory Parks marketing liaison Nirvana Rogers explained in all the 32 WSKA championships held, South Africa has only ever received three medals over the years.
“It’s taken a huge commitment and sacrifice to make it to a tournament of this calibre and we would really like to give him some exposure and show the community that there is so much talent in SA.”
