Brixton Police Station to hold Sector Crime Forum elections

The station calls on the community of Mayfair and Mayfair West to be part of community groups that promote safety.

Brixton Police Station will have a Sector Crime Forum election on July 28 and invite community members from Mayfair and Mayfair West to participate in the process.

It will be held at Jisa Sports Grounds at 19:00 which is situated at the corner of Jamestown Avenue and California Street.

The station’s Sector 4 manager Constable Franklin Machalibane said community members needed to play their role and vote as this would benefit the community in the fight against crime.

“We need to stand firm and take hands to ensure a safe and secure community and together it will be possible,” said Machalibane.

Brixton Police Station Commander Colonel Mkhacani Maluleke said the police were doing everything possible to reduce the crime in the area, however, this was a joint effort and they needed the community’s assistance through structures such as the CPF, youth desk and Sector Crime Forums to build a better and safer community to live in.
