Hoerskool Linden debaters represent the school and country well

LINDEN – Learners come back with podium finishes at debating competition.

Debating team wins at international competition.

Hoërskool Linden is proud of their debaters who recently participated in the Model United Nations (UNMUN) competition. The school had six of their learners taking part in the annual debating competition hosted by the South African Institute of International Affairs. Every year the event is hosted to give the youth a platform to engage on political, social and economic issues impacting how people live across the world.

At this year’s event the school’s Bernard Greeff, Louwhan Hoffmann and Johan Weideman, represented Mexico in the Security Council debate on the situation in Afghanistan and won the award for the Best Delegation. A third-place finish was also awarded to Danika Perry, Margeau le Roux and Monique van Heerden who represented Gabon in the African Union debate on the digital divide in African countries.

Hoërskool Linden commended the debaters and stated that they acquitted themselves with panache and aplomb.
