Displaced man allegedly murdered in Northcliff

FAIRLAND – The victim was stabbed in the neck and bled to death.

A suspect appeared in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on September 2 to face charges of murder.

Sergeant Michael Kgatla of Fairland Police Station said in the early hours of September 1, officers were called to scene in the Northcliff area where a victim had been allegedly stabbed to death.

The victim, who was a displaced person, was stabbed once in the neck and paramedics declared him dead. According to Kgatla, the suspect is also a displaced person and said his motive behind the stabbing was that he was requested to do so by the victim.

Other reports seem to suggest there had been a squabble between the two men which had ended fatally. An investigation is still underway with the suspect currently behind bars.

On the day of the suspect’s court appearance, officers of the station attended so they could oppose bail as the suspect did not have a fixed address.
