Rose Village elderly left gleeful after donations

ROOSEVELT PARK – The residents of Rose Village were recently left beaming from ear to ear after a lovely donation.

The joy about giving is that it never loses its natural appeal of making others feel loved and thought of. This must have been what the residents of Rose Village felt when they received their individual care packs.

The residents recently received Christmas hampers and monthly Free Masons grocery packages. The residents also get assistance from the Let’s Work team. Rose Village, which is a Methodist home for the aged, was opened back in 1994.

It caters to elderly persons between 60 years old and older who are able to care for themselves. There are currently about 165 residents of whom about 35 to 40, are in need of donations. Manager Philip Hulse said with every donation they receive, the residents remain ever grateful, “As the donations are of basic necessities like bread, tea, sugar, eggs and more.”

Should you be willing to assist, the home will always accept any donations that could help with the quality of life of the residents. “Many of the elderly living at Rose Village are living on very tight budgets and are very grateful for any help.”
