Woman ‘killed by lightning’ in Melville
Police were not yet able to confirm that the woman had been hit by lightning, but could confirm that she had passed away after the lightning hit.
A woman has died after reportedly being struck by lightning during a storm on 5 October.
According to @crimeairnetwork on Twitter, the incident occurred on Main Road, Melville.
Brixton Police are on their way to the scene. Spokesperson for the station, Jeanette Backoff said that police were not yet able to confirm that the victim was killed by a lightning strike, but said that, “The information that we have received so far indicates that a woman fell when the lightning hit, but we cannot confirm that she was hit by it.”
She stated that police and their photographers were on their way to the scene, and an inquest docket would be opened.
