Take part in the Run Zone Athletics Club’s Zone Challenge

NORTHCLIFF – Run Zone Athletics Club will host the Zone Challenge from 28 September to 4 October, a Monday to Sunday, and has encouraged the community to run either five, 10, 20, 30, 50 or 100km.

A week-long running challenge will keep the community on its feet this spring.

Run Zone Athletics Club will host the Zone Challenge from 28 September to 4 October, a Monday to Sunday, and has encouraged the community to run either five, 10, 20, 30, 50 or 100km.

This can be done in one day or broken into different distances over a few days. “The idea is to challenge yourself,” said running club owner and chairperson, Graham Block.

“Perhaps you want to complete this as a family and if four of you each run 5km then you can win a 20km medal as well. There is no time limit, so there will be less pressure.”

There is a fee involved but entrants will get real medals as opposed to virtual ones, as well as buffs. There will be a virtual certificate too.

More information about the challenge, including the registration fee and process, is on the running club’s website.

“We found that many people liked the Joburg North City Virtual Marathon on 1 and 2 August but there are not many live events at this time. So this is something to get excited about,” Block concluded.
