Art exhibition to be hosted at the Berario Rec Centre

BERARIO – The time to support local artists has arrived.

A three-day art exhibition is set to be hosted at the community’s recreational centre.

One of the world’s greatest artists of all time, Pablo Picasso, once said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Some have mastered the art of remaining artists and they will be attending and selling their amazing artwork this weekend at the Berario Recreational Centre. Hosted and organised by Noreen Beets’ Art Through Expression group, the three-day exhibition will take place from 11 to 13 October.

Many are already familiar with Beets and the Art Through Expression group. Since 2009, they have been offering classes to eager art students and enthusiast who simply wanted to pick up a brush for the first time since their school days at the recreational centre. Beets said, “We explore multiple techniques and every medium from water-colour, inks, pastel, acrylic and oils, to collage and printing. The mood in the class is vibrant, fun and dynamic on the one hand and meditative on the other.”

The space has since seen students master the secrets of the being an artist thanks to the endless art training and development they receive.

Besides exploring their artistic side, art has also become a method to reduce stress. Beets added, “In a confused society, where stress levels often run high, we artists find that expressing oneself creatively, gives balance to life.”

The time has now come for the artists to show off their work to the community at this exhibition. Art lovers will also be able to purchase pieces they see and love.
