Auckland Park Preparatory School learners to show off their scientific minds at Eskom’s Science Expo for Young Scientists

AUCKLAND PARK – Eskom to witness the scientific abilities of Auckland Park Preparatory School's learners.

A local school science fair has lead to top learners being entered into the Eskom Science Expo for Young Scientists.

Auckland Park Preparatory School is proud to announce that 15 of their learners have been selected to participate in this year’s Eskom Science Expo for Young Scientists. The news comes after the school 2019 Science Fair where learners rolled up their sleeves and put on their thinking caps.

Deputy headmistress of the school, Marcelle M’Crystal, shared details of the science fair, “After much research on a chosen topic and learning to conduct a scientific investigation, Grade 6 girls recently participated in the school’s science fair event and presented their projects to outside adjudicators.”

With science research projects and presentations on the life of plants, peer pressure, renewable energy, sterilisation and more, the school’s girls showed that they are the scientists of the future. The announcement that 15 of them will be participating in Eskom’s science expos further proves their commitment to the sciences.

“High achieving projects, across wide and varied topics, have now been selected and entered into the Eskom Science Expo for Young Scientists. This experience exposes the girls to a range of investigations, increasing their awareness of the wonders of science, adding to their knowledge and broadening their scientific horizons.”
