VICTORY PARK – The De La Salle Holy Cross College swimming team took part in the Prestige Gala held at the Delville Swimming Pool in Germiston on 5 March.
The swimming team consisted of 13 learners from the school who had qualified for the gala this year. This event was considered a highlight for the swimmers as they finish their season for 2019.
Matthew Simpson achieved third place in both the senior 200m individual medley and the 50m backstroke for the U17 boys’ events.
Sports administrator at the school Rianna Louw said, “All our swimmers did exceptionally well, with most finishing in the Top 10 of 20 swimmers in their various events. We are very proud of all of them – a great swimming season!”
