Christ Embassy to host a gaming and talent show for Brixton youth

BRIXTON – Who are the neighbourhood's best dancers, gamers and singers?

Christ Embassy Brixton will be doing their part for youth empowerment by hosting a gaming and talent show on 25 August.

Christ Embassy aims to bring young learners of various schools together to have a day filled with personal growth.

The youth of Brixton will experience a world of entertainment, education, encouragement and motivation which will ultimately inspire them to work harder to elevate themselves, their families and the society they exist in.

The programme for the day will mainly revolve around dance, drama, gaming and singing competitions. The winners will receive a prize for their school, sponsored by Christ Embassy Brixton.

Aobakwe Matlhaku, chairperson of the organising committee said, “The aim is to pull over a 1 000 teenagers away from the street where they are introduced to gangsterism, drugs and toxic activities. We are to recognise their talent and encourage them to use it for good.”

Speakers of the Department of Education will also be present to give learners insight on how to excel in their studies.

In addition, police officers will also address the children on how to create and live in a crime and drug-free society, teenage pregnancy, harmful religious practices and many more topics.

Festivities will begin at 11am and run until 3pm. Security has been arranged to ensure that peace and safety are guaranteed on the day.
