Koda is a boerboel-ridgeback cross and is five years old, and Coco is a seven-year-old Jack Russell. Both dogs have been sterilised and vaccinated.

Cousin-in-law, Tracey Hagen said, “Kit was an animal lover, and he certainly loved his dogs. He was close to them and they even slept inside the house with him, and he would never leave them out in the cold.

“The dogs are used to being walked every day, and they are great with children. Unfortunately, Coco is not so great with other dogs, but it could be that he is not used to them.”

Family and friends are now looking for a suitable home to place the two dogs.
