Make someone’s Christmas

LINDEN – By donating one item a day, you could make someone's Christmas.

The festive season is around the corner and a local non-governmental organisation is planning ahead for those in need.

Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) has launched Project Christmas Countdown and are asking their partners and community members to donate one item of food each day in November.

The collected food will make up hampers which will go towards Eufees Old Age Home in Westdene for the festive season. The residents at the old age home are some of many KLC assists – they run a feeding scheme at the home every Tuesday.

The hampers KLC are trying to make up give residents a chance to make their own food at their leisure to share with their friends and family.

To make it easier, KLC created a reverse advent calendar for those keen to donate. The calendar is available on the KLC Facebook page @kindconfetti.

While Project Christmas Countdown focuses specifically on food, KLC takes all sorts of donations those in need could use such as clothing, toiletries, containers and cutlery for food.

KLC founder, Alyson Samson, said she has also received little pieces of dress jewellery. These niceties which otherwise would be overlooked are also important especially during December as everyone looks forward to a little gift during the festive season.
