‘Being first that you may be of service’

VICTORY PARK – We have great faith and are very proud of our new councillors and 2018 matric class – headmaster.

A few De La Salle Holy Cross College High School learners have big shoes to fill come 2018.

On 12 October, the school announced the college leaders and councillors for 2018 during a special assembly.

The current college leaders and councillors lit candles on the day and handed over their badges to those who will succeed them. The ceremony is a long-standing college tradition meant to wish new brooms well.

2018 head girl, Tasneem Sallie, said she is humbled by the appointment.

“I am really looking forward to the exciting year ahead, working with the head boy, Nicholas Leeming, and to ‘being first that you may be of service’ [a popular saying at the school].

Not only are the new leaders and councillors excited for the new challenges that lie ahead, the teachers are excited about the dynamic and diverse group of leaders for 2018.

“We have great faith and are very proud of our new councillors and 2018 matric class,” De La Salle headmaster, Atholl Murray, said.
