City Notice: Do you have what it take to be an Integrity Commissioner

Speaker for the City of Johannesburg, Vasco da Gama has called for nominations from members of the public, organisations, institutions and civil society to fill the position of the Integrity Commissioner for the City.

An integrity commissioner would investigate any alleged violation of the Code of Conduct by any councillor ‘in so far as such violation relates to the disclosure and declaration of financial interest by the councillor’.

Among the requirements for the position is a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent thereof and a person with integrity and honesty. The commissioner is also tasked with submitting quarterly reports to the Ethics Commission.
