Come and have fun at the Boeremark

MELVILLE - Melville Kruis Church will host their annual Boeremark. Come and join in the fun..

The 100-year-old Melville Kruis congregation will once again host their very special and much anticipated, annual Boeremark on the church grounds.

Office manager, Liesl Wehncke said that this is one of the church’s two big fundraising projects. “It is a community project. Guesthouses, restaurants and business in the community are all involved,” said Wehncke.

She added that the church has many ministries that they serve and the funds raised will be used for this purpose. “We sponsor a less fortunate child or an elderly person to attend the market and enjoy the day with us. Children get food packs and the elderly can enjoy the day in the tea garden,” said Wehncke. She added that Deon Fourie sponsored tuk-tuk services that will be picking up the elderly to transport them to the market.

On 3 June there will be a street cafe at the church in Fourth Avenue, Melville. It will be open from 5pm and people will be able to buy jaffles, boerewors, hot dogs, lamb curry, melkkos and a drive-in movie. On 4 June the fun run will take place from 7.30am. People can also fight the winter weather with treats like pancakes, vetkoek, curry and rice, roosterkoek, puddings and more.

Members of the congregation will have stalls and sell their handmade projects. Children will be entertained with games designed specifically for them.

“Everybody is welcome and we invite you to enjoy the day with us at the church,” concluded Wehncke.
