The axe has struck again after they terrorised elderly victims in Blairgowrie during March.
On 4 May between 2am and 5am, a family of three was attacked by the gang. The two suspects took the daughter to her parents room and tied the family up with cables. One of the suspects stood guard while the other one searched the house.
The suspects only carried one axe and threatened to hurt the daughter.
They got away with an X-Box, a TV, jewellery, liquor, two bank cards and their pins. The suspects later withdrew money from the accounts. The suspects got away with money and goods worth more than R100 000. Fortunately none of the victims were harmed.
“We are urging residents to use their alarms and to make sure that they work,” said Linden Police Captain Alex Vermaak. He said that people should take more caution and test their alarms regularly.
Captain Vermaak said that these are the same men that targeted elderly residents in the five attacks that happened in March.
“No arrests have been made yet but we are following good leads,” said Captain Vermaak.
