For the love of scouts

VICTORY PARK – De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School celebrates the birthday of the founder of the scout movement.

Scouts, cubs and brownies from De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School wore their uniforms to school to celebrate the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell on 22 February – a British general and the founder of the modern scouting movement.

Scouts around the world celebrate this day as Founder’s Day. The pupils at the school in Victory Park displayed their uniforms proudly and enjoyed telling their fellow pupils about their mottos and the various outdoor and survival activities they take part in.

“This is a lovely opportunity for the children to show their service and enthusiasm for their various community commitments,” said Mary Hyam, headmistress of the junior school.
