De La Salle Holy Cross College High School challenges neighbouring schools

VICTORY PARK – De La Salle Holy Cross College High School is challenging neighbouring schools to help them collect as much water as possible for their water drive.

De La Salle Holy Cross College High School in Victory Park has put out a challenge to all schools in neighbouring areas to support them in their water collection drive for their sister school, Holy Cross in Aliwal North.

Water collection campaign coordinator Lydia Orsmond said SkyeNet World Wide is sponsoring a truck of any size to take up another load of water on 25 January.

Orsmond asked the community and schools to continue to bring more water so they can fill up the biggest truck possible.

She said on 20 January the school was overwhelmed by the feedback they had received from the community.

“We hired a four-ton truck that took half of the water up to Aliwal North on 20 January. This was done to help the children as soon as possible. The truck was welcomed by the Holy Cross Primary School children, staff and local families with great cheers and happiness when it arrived at 7pm last night,” said Orsmond.

Orsmond added if anyone desires to fill bottles or containers they must drop it off at the school before Monday 25 January.
