GALLERY: Maimane urges citizens to fight for SA

SA finds itself at a crucial time.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane says it is time people stand up,work together to build SA, because it has reached the worst level.

“The country found itself at a crucial level. The Nkandla issue, is also distracting us on the real work that we are supposed to be doing. Because, it is not only Zuma’s problem, but its ours too. Millions of South Africans out there are still unemployed while we are busy putting more weight on the Nkandla issue,” Maimane said.

He was addressing the community at a breakfast meeting held at Mark’s Park in Emmarentia on 14 August.

Maimane said we still have a lot of work to do in this country.

“Our government has made some key decisions which brought us where we are today. ANC made a hell of a mess,” he said.

Maimane believes together we can still turn around every crisis were are in today.

“You see, we can’t keep one party ruling forever, it will eventually get corrupt. Believe me if the DA doesn’t succeed, SA doesn’t succeed as well,” the DA Parliamentary leader said.

Maimane added that there are a few things we can do to turn the bad state of the country around, including unemployment.

He said solving the energy crisis first might help, because so far no one wants to invest in SA because it is clear our energy is in a crisis.

“Load shedding costs SA billions of rand. Again, we have to make it easier for small businesses to trade so they can create jobs and employ more locals; we have to help them grow their businesses,” Maimane reckoned.

Maimane promised that by 2016, they are taking over the cities of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Nelson Mandela Bay.
