Brixton Police confirmed that the owner of a jewellery shop at Campus Square in Auckland Park was shot during an armed robbery on 5 August.
Brixton Station Commander Colonel Michelle Jones confirmed that five unknown armed suspects stormed one of the shops at the Campus Square.
Col Jones explained that the suspects allegedly fired shots during the incident. The owner sustained moderate injuries on the left side of his face from one of the bullets.
“The armed suspects fled with jewellery including watches, rings and chains,” she said. She couldn’t reveal the cost of the stolen items and concluded that the police were investigating a case of business robbery.
