WESTBURY – Two people were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to Helen Joseph Hospital after a fire started at a flat in Westbury.

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out inside a flat in Westbury on 17 July.

According to ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing, when paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found one unit in a block of flats, alight.

“Fire and Rescue Services extinguished the fire,” Bodasing said.

“One man believed to be in his 20s and another believed to be in his 30s were assessed,” she added.

According to Bodasing, the victims were treated for smoke inhalation and transported to the Helen Joseph Hospital for further medical care.

“The exact cause of the incident is unknown, however authorities were on scene for further investigations,” concluded Bodasing.
