One person died and three people were injured following a shooting on Populier Avenue, Bosmont, on the evening of 7 July. Netcare 911 media liaison officer Santi Steinmann explained that as paramedics and emergency services arrived on scene, they found that a man had lost his life during the shooting. “There was nothing further that could be done for the deceased man and he was declared dead at the scene,” she said.
“Three people were found to have sustained serious injuries during the shooting incident and after receiving treatment at the scene, the injured patients were transported to hospital for further medical care. Exact detail surrounding the cause of the shooting incident and preceding events, are unknown at this stage and will remain the subject of a police investigation and for police comment.”
