LINDEN – Robbers on foot nabbed with laptops.

Two suspects involved in a Linden burglary will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 9 June.

On the morning of 6 June, a housebreaking and theft occurred on 1st Street in Linden. The residence was unoccupied at the time. When the owner returned home and noticed several items missing, he phoned the Linden Police Station. Officers on duty immediately linked the case to that of two 28-year-old suspects who had been arrested that same day for possession of suspected stolen property.

Linden Police spokesperson Captain Alex Vermaak said that at 12.15pm, Captain Andries Makgae and Sergeant Bethuel Nevhuvuhle stopped and searched two suspicious-looking individuals on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 9th Street in Linden. The suspects were on foot and carrying a black bin bag. Inside the officers found two laptops and some clothing. The two men could not satisfactorily explain what they were doing with these items, and were detained for possession of suspected stolen property.

The resident has identified his stolen property at the Linden Police Station.
