De La Salle donates

VICTORY PARK – Local school donates blankets to charity.

As is tradition, the De La Salle Holy Cross College used its hall after its recent Matric Dance, to host a Come Back, Give Back Dance the next evening. The dance was held at the school in Victory Park in aid of charity.

Parents and past pupils bought tickets and brought along blankets to donate to a worthy cause, and a great evening was enjoyed by everyone.

“The dance was a great success, and I was so proud of our hard-working Grade 11s who were waiters on both evenings. A very special evening for the benefit of many,” said Debbie Harris, the college principal.

Sister Kieran of the Mercy Sisters in Johannesburg, collected the blankets from De La Salle Holy Cross College – and was overjoyed with the number of blankets donated. The Sisters of Mercy will distribute the blankets to various people in need this winter.
