GALLERY: Safe, fed and educated during school holidays

HURST HILL – Christ's King Church in Hursthill is giving back to the community through their holiday club which caters for children as young as two years old.

School holidays have become a bliss for children in Hursthill and surrounding areas.

Parents can now breath a sigh of relief, knowing that their children are safe, fed, and educated during their school holidays.

Over 90 children from different communities flocked together at the holiday club called Children Learning in Christ’s Kingdom.

The programme is designed to suit children’s needs, and runs from 7–10 April at Christ’s King Church in Hursthill.

Pastor Libby Weimers and Kelly Anne Ryland, who are responsible for the programme, dedicated their time on feeding and educating children for free.

“We realised that during the holidays, children normally get bored and so we wanted to do something to keep them occupied and also to assist parents while they are at work,” said Pastor Weimers.

“We enjoy it so much, it is so lovely to see children enjoying themselves,” she said.

The holiday program also accommodate children as young as two years old.

“We are more about developing and enhancing the community and we always want to be there for our community,” she added.

Weimers also highlighted that the holiday club will start following a new curriculum which will see youngsters graduating at the end of the year.

“We encourage our children and we teach them the Bible and in November they will be graduating,” concluded Weimers.
