The body of a man identified as Vusi was discovered hanging from a tree in a veld said to be private property in Newlands this afternoon.
Police officers are currently on scene waiting for the police photographer and a van to arrive before they can remove the body.
According to an anonymous source, Vusi lived near the veld where he was found. The man is believed to have been a trolley man in the area.
Ward councilor Steve Kotze is also on scene, and says the area has been problematic.
This is apparently the second body discovered hanging from a tree in the area.
It is not clear yet whether this was a murder or suicide.
