Vorentoe honoured as School Team of the Year
ROSSMORE – Vorentoe High School won the School Team of the Year award at the South African Sports Awards.
Vorentoe High School’s wish of being the best was granted.
The school received the School Team of the Year award at the South African Sports Awards held at the Sandton Conventional Centre on 30 November.
“It was the best experience ever,” said principal and head coach of Voerentoe’s athletes, Hans Saestad.
“This is one of the best awards that we have ever received as a school. We were very delighted to be honoured, and we will use the money in a very positive way,” said Saestad.
Athletes scout and life orientation teacher Oupa Maruping, who was also present at the awards, was very chuffed.
“This is a big deal for us. I was so excited to be on stage and receive one of the most prestigious awards,” he said.
He also highlighted that, “This is just the results of hard work.”
Vorentoe was up against Virginia’s (Free State) Harmony High School and Cape Town’s Hoërskool Paarl Gimnasium.
