Westdene brothel next door gets a surprise visit
WESTDENE – What really goes on behind your neighbour's doors? Reacting on a tip-off that drug-deals were being conducted in a Westdene home, the Hawks found a brothel instead.
Members of the Hawks swooped down on an alleged brothel in Westdene on 29 August.
The Hawks reportedly reacted to a tip-off that the house in question was a drug-nest. When they raided the home, they found that it was, in fact, a brothel.
“We found no drugs, but you could tell by the inside of the home that it was a brothel,” a member of the Hawks said on 2 September.
Three alleged prostitutes have been working in the home. Two women vacated the premises on the day of the raid, and the last left the home on 1 September. The Hawks have reportedly ‘cleared’ the home.
A neighbour reacted with little surprise when told that the home was a brothel.
“You can tell that there was something shady going on there,” teenager Dennis Jaiden said.
“There were a lot of different men going in there, especially at night. Sometimes very fancy cars drew up in front of that house. Everyone in the street thought it was drugs.”
