What’s new at the movies?

The sequel to the animated box office hit, The Secret Life Of Pets 2, arrives at Nu Metro’s cinemas in KZN this week. Families are bound to enjoy the LOL-comedy, epic adventure and outrageous animal action. If you’re a Conjuring Universe-fan, the time has finally come as Annabelle Comes Home returns to possess them all when this hair-raising horror prevails as Annabelle continues her evil reign of terror, raising fellow spirits, with eyes all set on a new innocent target.

The Kings of Mulberry Street is a heroic comedy about growing up and getting even.  The film brings together the rich and colourful world of the Indian community in the 1980s as well as Bollywood cinema and songs from that era, in a tale that peers into the past through the prism of the present.

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 (PG)
This new 3D animated comedy-adventure follows Max the terrier, who must cope with some major life changes when his owner gets married and has a baby. When the family takes a trip to the countryside, nervous Max has numerous run-ins with canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a scary turkey. Luckily for Max, he soon catches a break when he meets Rooster, a gruff farm dog who tries to cure the lovable pooch of his neuroses.

He lives in a Bollywood dream world, where he’s an unbeatable action hero, and rooftops are his kingdom. He’s looking for a partner in crime and sees a trainee in Baboo—chubby, bookish Baboo is equally imaginative and spirited.
