Meghan and Harry welcome a baby boy

The healthy baby boy weights just over 4kgs.

‘IT’S a boy- Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s long awaited bundle of joy has finally arrived.

The Duchess of Sussex, who went into labour early on Monday morning and gave birth to a healthy baby boy early this morning.

The news was shared on the Royal Sussex Instagram page, just before 4pm today.

“We are pleased to announce that their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz (about 4kgs). The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives,” read the post.

The infant will be seventh in line to the British throne and Queen Elizabeth II’s eighth great-grandchild. Harry is the younger son of Prince Charles, the next in line to the throne, and the late Princess Diana, who died in a Paris car crash in 1997.
