WIN: SA’s biggest comedians to entertain Durbanites

The audience can expect to catch two of SA’s rising comedy stars and Durban favourites, Neville Pillay at Jem Atkins.

PREPARE to be left in stitches at the upcoming Friday Night Comedy on Friday, 2 June at Royal Palm Hotel, Gateway. South Africa’s biggest comedians will perform with Durban’s best at the 90-minute show.

The audience can expect to catch two of SA’s rising comedy stars, Khanyisa Bunu and Lihle Msimang, from Johannesburg. Durban favourites, Neville Pillay and Jem Atkins – along with Cape Town funnyman – Stuart Cairns will also feature in the line-up. Matthew Armstrong will perform in the open slot for the evening.

Neville Pillay

Hilarious stand-up comedian, accomplished writer and actor (‘Attack of the Indian Werewolf’, ‘31 Million Reasons’ , ‘Curry And Vice’). Neville was also the winner of the 2012 ‘So you think you funny comedy contest.’

Khanyisa Bunu

They say that dynamite comes in small packages…and Khanyisa Bunu is no exception. She may be short and unassuming, but put this talented comedienne on any stage and she’ll likely bring the house down. Khanyisa’s unique comedy style has wowed audiences across the country, and even earned her the Savanna Audience Choice Award, 2015.

Lihle Msimang

Lihle Lindzy Msimang, winner of the 2011 Nandos Comedy Showdown, is a young female comedian and actress. She has featured in various prestigious stand up comedy events and DVDs. She has unique, wholesome approach, which saw her become a main feature in Parable Magazine’s Lord, Make Me Laugh.

Stuart Cairns

This hilarious Cape Town based comedian’s stand- up incorporates a combination of rant, impersonation and self effacement. Cairns won the 2014 Good Hope FM Laughmaster Competition and subsequently performed at the tenth annual Jive Funny Fest at the Baxter Theatre. In 2014 Stuart also opened at the Artscape Theatre for Emmy nominated Mojack Lehoko.

Jem Atkins

Arguably one of the funniest Durban entertainers. Atkins has been hosting and headlining shows all over Durban for several years. He has performed all over the country with some of the biggest names in the industry.
