“It’s going to be my first performance at Sunday Beats, so I am hoping to get a good crowd. I’m looking forward to sharing music from the past and present and taking the audience on my life’s journey,” the singer/songwriter said.

A well-known artist within the country music landscape of South Africa, Cheryl has performed at numerous KZN and South African venues, festivals and private functions. No less than a decade ago, Cheryl teamed up with husband Martin Engel – the former Tree63 bassist – to form the easy-listening, adult contemporary group, Connecting Stars.

A few years after forming their band, Cheryl and Martin released their debut self-titled album which saw them tour the cities of New York, Nashville, Los Angeles and San Diego in the United States of America.

“Artists such as Cheryl have really flown our flag high and represented South African music well on the international stage. We look forward to her performance at Sunday Beats this long weekend and have no doubt our music lovers will leave with a spring in their step and a smile in their heart,” said Suncoast’s marketing manager, Louise Howell.
