Backyard breeders debacle addressed

THE Northglen News has been inundated with letters and calls from readers who voiced their anger at an advertorial suggesting that a Durban North pet shop, Petland, would act as a showroom for puppy breeders. Some of our readers were furious.

We must stress that the Northglen News has always been at the forefront of highlighting any kind of animal abuse and would thus never support any cruelty to any animals. We have reported on numerous stories of animal abuse and animals being rescued, and we carry, on a regular basis, our ‘Orphans Corner’ in which we urge the public to adopt abandoned dogs and cats.
