MD appalled at dumping accusations

The managing director of the company accused of illegal dumping at Malacca Road earlier today speaks about the event that caused chaos on social media networks.

HUGH Randall, the managing director of MDS Collivery, the company accused of dumping illegally in Malacca Road, has defended the actions of his employee. Randall told the Northglen News that is was understandable the incident had been misconstrued adding that “the truth is very different from what has been reported on social media”.

“The MDS Group is appalled at the thought that we would participate in the practice of illegal dumping. We went to the Malacca Road dump site to dump these excess items after our recent move to bigger premises but they redirected us to Springfield Park,” Randall said.

He said the company’s driver stopped outside the Malacca Road dump site and offered the squatters who were there the opportunity to take what they wanted.

“We then went to the dump site in Springfield Park with the remainder, paid and dumped it.

“While it is understandable that what we were doing could be misconstrued, the truth is very different and the above invoice is proof of that,” he said.

“I have also provided the tracking history on this vehicle between 8am and 9am this morning. It shows us going to the Malacca Road dump site, then turning around and stopping opposite the squatter camp. Thereafter we travelled to the Springfield dump site where we dumped the remainder, before returning to our office,” Randall said.
