IS there a syndicate operating in the north Durban area that specializes in pet theft?
In a period of one month, two dogs have been stolen in mysterious circumstances. The first, saw an opportunistic thief who was captured on CCTV footage, simply pick up a dog (that had managed tosneak out of its uMhlanga home) from a service station and take it to her home in Phoenix.
It took a private investigator to track down the dog after a R5000 reward was offered. The second incident is similar. In this instance, its been more than a week and a family is devastated that their Yorkshire Terrier whisked away from outside the family’s home in Glenashley, still has not been traced.
It’s a worrying trend.
